National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF) and CIC Insurance have donated K25 million to 21 households affected by floods and rising water levels in Nkhotakota District.
NEEF Board Chairperson, Jephta Mntema, highlighted that the affected communities are largely their clientele, making the insurance payout crucial for maintaining financial stability.
The aim, according to Mntema, is to mitigate the effects of property, crop, and business losses.
The support goes to communities that took loans from NEEF and insured their loans against death and unforeseen events.
