UTM youths call for peace and unity

Youths from UTM party in the North have emphasized the need for peace across the nation, in honour of the memory of late Dr. Saulos Chilima, the founder of UTM and late Vice President.

The call for unity has been made during a candlelight ceremony organized by Northern Region youths at Katoto Ground in Mzuzu.

Siizi Nkosi, UTM Councillor for Lupaso-Nkholongo Ward, hailed late Dr. Chilima’s visionary leadership, which influenced many in the country to believe that a better Malawi is possible.

“We must prioritize peace and unity as essential elements for national development,” Nkosi remarked during the event.

Organizer Peter Mpaso echoed the sentiments, emphasizing that political differences should not undermine national progress, urging everyone to refrain from violence.

The people in Mzuzu remembered Dr. Chilima as a diligent leader who was committed to transforming and empowering the lives of Malawians in every respect.
