Umodzi Holdings Limited says it has made a profit of K948 million between April and June this year.
Board Chairperson for Umodzi Holdings Limited, Misheck Esau disclosed this in Lilongwe during this year’s Umodzi Park shareholder Annual General meeting.
According to Esau, good governance and leadership helped the company realise such profits in this year’s first quarter.
Esau said the Malawi government as a company shareholder will get an interim dividend of K300 million.
Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs, Hetherwick Njati commended Umodzi Holdings for its success, saying the interim dividend the government has received, will help in different sectors of the country, including the tourism sector.
