The State, through the Ministry of Justice, has revealed that it will appeal the acquittal of eight people, including Tadikira Mafubza, who have been set free by High Court Judge Gladys Gondwe in Mzuzu in a manslaughter and aggravated human trafficking case.
The Ministry, through its Facebook page, has indicated that the State is not satisfied with the ruling.
Mafubza and the other accused were arrested in 2022 following the discovery of 30 dead bodies of Ethiopians buried in a mass grave in Mtangatanga Forest, Mzimba district.
The case went for a full trial but the suspects were acquitted on Wednesday on grounds of insufficient evidence.
