ULAMA COUNCIL SUPPORTS MUSSA’S MOVE TO MCP

The Ulama Council Mangochi Chapter a grouping of Islamic scholars has thrown its weight behind Uladi Mussa’s dumping of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and his joining of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP).

The remarks come a few days after Mussa joined the ruling MCP at a rally held in Salima.

Mussa said he made the decision following his suspension from the opposition DPP after he was accused of participating in an  NGC meeting organised by former DPP Vice President for the Southern Region, Kondwani Nankhumwa.

Commenting on the development, the Chairperson for Ulama Council, Mangochi Chapter,  Sheikh Abubakar Labson said as friends of Mussa, they fully support his decision, saying it’s a step towards the right direction.

” Uladi Mussa is a well-experienced Politician whom we believe will add value to national development issues in the current administration,” said Sheikh Rabson.
