State parades three witnesses in Chisale case

The Principal Magistrate Court in Lilongwe is hearing from three witnesses in the case involving former Presidential Bodyguard, Norman Chisale.

The witnesses include Close Protection Officer to the Deputy Director General of ACB, Enerst Chimanga, Deputy Director of ACB, Hillary Chilomba and Former Director of Public Prosecutions, Steven Kayuni.

The first witness to testify was Sergeant Enerst Chimanga who is the 8th witness in the case. In his statement, he explained that he met the accused on 10 November 2023 at ACB offices in Lilongwe. Sergeant Chimanga added that he overheard Chisale saying, “MCP and Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) you are destroying me, I wanted to meet the DG and she is lucky that she is not here next time I will not leave this place whether there will be explosives or gunshots.”

On his part,  Deputy Director of ACB Hillary Chilomba who is the 9th witness to testify, said he met Chisale at ACB offices where he asked him some questions.

Meanwhile, the court is expected to cross-examine  Former Director of Public Prosecutions, Steven Kayuni who is the 10th witness.
