Inkosana Thomas Nkosi from the area of Inkosi Chindi in Mzimba District has urged various stakeholders in the country to promote sports, as it has the potential to transform the lives of young people.
Nkosi made the remarks at Chitheba Primary School Ground during the launch of the K1.1 million Inkosana Thomas Nkosi Trophy.
“Young people have the energy and they need support so that they can refrain from indulging in immoral behaviours,” Inkosana Thomas Nkosi said.
The Trophy’s chairperson, Hastings Chirwa, hailed the chief for coming up with the trophy which he said will keep young people in the area busy.
There are 14 football teams and 10 netball teams from the area participating in the trophy.
