Smallholder Farmers Fertilizer Revolving Fund of Malawi (SFFRFM) says it will continue devising measures aimed at easing access for farmers to quality and affordable fertilizer for satisfactory yields.
SFFRFM spokesperson, Grace Thipa, made the remarks on Wednesday in Blantyre during a training for the company’s Southern Region Sales Clerks to update them on the newly introduced fertilizer called ‘Nano Liquid’.
Thipa said introduction of Nano fertilizer to Malawian farmers follows their sealing of a partnership with Agventure Resources Limited of India four months ago.
“The liquid fertilizer is now available in our depots across the country and it was important for our sales clerks to be inducted on the product so that they teach farmers on best practices,” she said.
Bhupender Singh, a representative of Agventure Resources Limited, said they have empirical evidence of the fertilizer’s effectiveness on the country’s soil.
