Human Rights Consultation Committee (HRCC) has called on Malawians to refrain from politicising the interim report on the June 10 plane crash by the Bureau of Flight Investigations of Germany.
Robert Mkwezalamba, Chairperson of the HRCC, stated that while the interim report has ruled out any foul play, it is disheartening to see individuals using it to spread misinformation and make political accusations against both government and specific individuals.
Mkwezalamba said the report presents preliminary findings and safety recommendations for authorities to act on while the nation awaits for a comprehensive report by the summer of 2025.
He called on the public to exercise patience and maintain peace during this period, rather than engaging in speculation.
