Vice President Dr Michael Usi has urged evangelists from the Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division (SID) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church to pray for Malawi and its leadership as the nation prepares for general elections next year.
Dr Usi made the remarks at Mponela in Dowa District during the opening of the Literature Evangelist Congress, organised by the Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division under the theme “Called for the Mission”.
He noted that the theme reflects the core values of compassion, service, and sacrifice central to the Adventist faith.Dr Usi also observed that evangelists’ message of hope, redemption and love has the power to transform lives, bring people together and foster a sense of community and belonging.
SID President, Pastor Harrington Akombwa, urged the SDA church members to remain strong and preach about God’s love in their respective nations.
This is the fourth congress of the Division which is comprised of publishing departments of the Seventh Day Adventist Church from 23 countries under the division.
