Police at Jenda in Mzimba have arrested Orphan Chirwa, 20, for breaking into five homes where he went away with assorted items within the trading centre in the district.
Jenda Police Station publicist Macfarlen Mseteka says the arrest follows an intelligence-driven operation conducted by Jenda Police detectives on the night of October 14, 2024, after receiving five complaints about a similar mode of breaking.
Mseteka says the suspect has been charged with burglary and theft contrary to sections 309 subsection (2) and 271 of the penal code respectively.
Chirwa will be taken to court to answer his charges upon completion of paper work.
