In a gesture that underscores its commitment to cultural respect and community engagement, the Nyasa Group has donated K25 million to support the annual Umthetho Festival currently underway in Mzimba.
“Our commitment to this cause reflects our broader values of cultural respect and community engagement. As you are aware, the key stakeholders in our business are tobacco growers, and the Ngoni people are one of them,” said Nyasa Group’s President, Konrad Buckle.
The donation from Nyasa Manufacturing and Nyasa Tobacco aims to make this year’s Umthetho event more exciting and memorable. Buckle emphasized the importance of supporting cultural events that strengthen community bonds and celebrate heritage.
The Umthetho Festival, a paramount event for the Ngoni people in Mzimba, has attracted participation from Ngonis from Southern African countries and ethnic groups across the nation.
The festival is being celebrated under the theme: ‘Uniting against Climate Change under the Decade of His Majesty M’mbelwa V.’
