Nutrition alliance lobbies journalists on food systems agenda

Civil Society Organisation Nutrition Alliance (CSONA) believes that the lack of involvement of the media in the food systems sensitisation agenda is a major setback to the realisation of the right to food.

CSONA Programme Communication Officer, Patience Perera, said this in Blantyre at the end of a two-day orientation of journalists from Dedza, Chikwawa and Mzimba on transformative initiatives towards food systems.

Perera said they would like discourse or conversations in food systems to improve already existing skills of the Malawi media.

MISA Malawi Chairperson, Golden Matonga, said any capacity building towards media is a welcome development.

Over 20 journalists attended the orientation with financial assistance from GIZ in conjunction with CSONA, MWAPATA and CISANET.
