Deputy Minister of Local Government, Owen Chomanika, has elevated traditional authorities Njewa and Kalumba to the position of Senior Chief at a ceremony which took place at Mgwayi ground in Lilongwe.
Chomanika has also installed Barton Chakumba as Traditional Authority Malili after his name was approved by the government.
Minister of Gender, Jean Sendeza and Minister of Mining, Monica Chang’anamuno as well as chiefs from Lilongwe and other districts attended the ceremony.
