Nsanje District Council Chief Administration Officer, Rotina Mlombwa, has appealed to people in the district to embrace new farming methods and conserve natural resources to address the hunger problem which hits the district every year.
Mlombwa was speaking in the area of Traditional Authority Mbenje in the district during the district catchment conservation and management campaign launch, aimed at promoting catchment restoration and protection in addressing land degradation and climate change impacts while building resilience of the farmers and farming systems.
Chief Agricultural and Natural Resources Officer for Nsanje, James Lichapa, admitted that the district is in need of food assistance due to a dry spell.
