NICE drills media in investigative journalism

In an effort to strengthen the capacity of journalists, the National Initiative for Civic Education (NICE) has trained media practitioners in Dedza.

NICE Programme Officer for Lilongwe and Dedza, Daniel Malango, said the media need to be equipped with knowledge and skills in in-depth reporting, which can enhance transparency and accountability in local councils.

One of the participating journalists, Horance Tebulo, was left satisfied with the training.

“I want to commend the NICE for organising this training. We still have challenges in accessing information from Local Authorities,” Tebulo said.

MISA Malawi Chairperson, Golden Matonga, described the training as a positive step and urged NICE to reach out to other districts.
