Centenary Bank to construct cancer facility at Likuni Hospital

Centenary Bank says it will establish a “vital cancer treatment facility” at Likuni Hospital in Lilongwe.

The bank’s Deputy Managing Director, Godfrey Byekwaso, said they will work hand in hand with the Rotary Club of Malawi and the Lilongwe Archdiocese to establish the facility.

He also said the bank has lined up several initiatives not only to raise funds for the cancer project but to also create awareness and encourage women to go for screening since early detection helps in eradicating cervical cancer.

“Centenary Bank will be donating K10 million every year for the next three years towards the cancer run initiative with the aim of raising funds for the establishment of the cancer treatment facility.

“Our commitment is more than just a financial contribution, it is a symbol of our belief in the power of unity, the strength of compassion, and the strong spirit of the Malawian people,” said Byekwaso.

He was speaking at a Rotary Gala Dinner held in honour of Rotary International president, Gordon Mclnally, at the Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe.
