Mzimba Heritage Association (MZIHA) has called upon businesspersons to utilise the upcoming Umthetho Cultural Festival to sell their various merchandise.
Kingsley Jere, MZIHA’s General Secretary, made the announcement ahead of the festival set to start on Friday.
Jere said the cultural festival is set to attract hundreds of people; hence businesses can maximise on the turnout to make sales.
“While it’s about celebrating Ngoni culture, there is an opportunity for people in business to transact, taking advantage of the multitudes that will grace the event,” he said.
M’mbelwa District Council’s Trade Officer, Chimwemwe Sichinga, asked small-scale businesses to take their various products to the festival.
“Even those in the food business, mandasi, and even fruits need to attend the festival. Such festivals bring an opportunity to make extra cash,” she said.
This year’s Umthetho Festival is being celebrated under the theme: “Uniting Against Climate Change Under a Decade of Inkosi Ya Makosi M’mbelwa V’s Reign.”
