Karonga District Council has warned contractors of the 2023-24 Governance to Enable Service Delivery (GESD) projects for timely completion of their tasks or risk being blacklisted from working in the district.
Msukwa sounded the warning Monday at Ngerenge Dispensary in the area of Senior Chief Kilipura during a site handover ceremony to Chisanga Construction Company which will erect two staff houses costing over K200 million at the facility.
Msukwa said, “According to the contract which was signed, the two houses are supposed to be finished by 24 November or on 16 December taking into consideration unforeseen challenges.”
The Council Chairperson has since advised community member to actively monitor the progress of the project and avoid stealing materials from the construction site.
