Maranatha Boys Capital Academy has recorded a strong performance in the 2026 consolidated student university selection results, with almost all candidates passing and a significant number progressing to higher education institutions.
Out of 90 students who sat for the examinations, 89 passed, while 52 have been selected into public universities, teacher training colleges and open and distance learning programmes. This represents a selection rate of approximately 58.4 per cent of those who passed.
The national results show that out of 32,527 applicants, 29,812 qualified and 20,682 were selected into higher education institutions across the country.
Secretary for Education, Science and Technology Ken Ndala said the new policy of selecting students by programme rather than bed space has increased access to higher education.
Chairperson of Vice Chancellors for Public Universities, Professor Emmanuel Kaunda, said the coordinated release of results has streamlined admissions by merging face-to-face, open and distance learning, and city campus streams.
Managing Director of Maranatha Private Schools, Ernest Kaonga, lauded the performance.
“The results reflect the strong commitment of our teachers and learners, and the consistent emphasis we place on quality education across the school system.”
Kaonga further said, “This achievement demonstrates that discipline, hard work and focused academic support continue to produce excellent outcomes for our students.”
The results underpin a near-perfect pass rate at the institution, with almost all candidates qualifying and more than half of those passing progressing to higher education placements, underscoring the school’s strong academic performance in the 2026 selection cycle.
