Police in Salima have arrested Dyton Charles,28, for allegedly injuring his three-year-old stepson’s private parts with a sharp knife.
Publicist for Salima Police, Rabecca Ndiwate, says Charles has been charged with grievous harm and will appear in court soon to face the charges.
Ndiwate says the boy’s mother left the child in the care of her husband while she went to the maize mill. Upon her return, she was informed that her son had been seriously injured.
She adds that the child was rushed to Lifeline Health Center and was later transferred to Salima District Hospital where he is receiving further treatment for a deep cut on his private parts.
Police are continuing their investigations into the case.
