The Malawi Beach Soccer National Team on Monday suffered a 5-1 defeat to Saudi Arabia in the ongoing Cosafa Beach Soccer Championship in South Africa.
Malawi took the lead through Sandram Ussi, but the Saudis hit back with five to register their first victory of the tournament.
In another Group A match, South Africa beat Seychelles 3-2.
This means that all the four teams in the group have three points each in two matches. Malawi beat South Africa on Sunday while Saudi Arabia lost to Seychelles.
Malawi’s next challenge is against Seychelles on Wednesday, a crucial match as the top two teams in the group will advance to the semifinals.
