The Magistrates and Judges Association in Malawi (MAJAM) has postponed their scheduled meeting with private practice lawyer Alexious Kamangila to a later date, which will be announced by the Association.
Kamangila was expected to appear before the Judges and Magistrates on Thursday evening via Zoom.
“MAJAM invited me to a meeting, as you are aware but later on communicated that the judicial officer who was supposed to chair the meeting, is engaged,” said Kamangila.
He added, “Despite having so many questions, I thank the leadership for communicating civilly.”
The human rights lawyer has recently gained attention on social media, particularly Facebook, after accusing several fellow lawyers and judges of alleged corruption.
