People in the country have been urged to show love in supporting the needy during the festive season and beyond.
Malawi Congress Party (MCP) member and Chairperson for Friends of Thembachako, Emmanuel Thembachako, made the remarks in Lilongwe after reaching out to the maternity ward at Area 25 Health Centre with food and others items on New Year’s day.
Thembachako said giving to the needy during this festive season is the only way that can help to uplift their lives.
He said they decided to cheer the patients at the facility to demonstrate love because they too can contribute to the development of Malawi.
Head of the Maternal Section at the health centre, Richard Mwansa, hailed friends of Thembachako for the timely support during this festive season.
Mwansa said the support compliments very well with the medication patients get at the facility. He also urged other well wishers to go and support the patients at the facility.
Area 25 Health Centre is one of the fast growing health centres in Lilongwe with a catchment area of over 500,000 people. At least 20 children were born on new year at the facility.
