Let’s honour Chilima’s professional legacy – MCCCI

Captains of industry are calling for collaborative efforts between the government and private sector towards creating a conducive business environment as a way of honouring the Vice President, late Dr. Saulos Chilima’s professional legacy.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of the Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and lndustry (MCCCI) Daisy Kambalame, the two sides must strive to ensure that the private sector is more determined for economic growth.

As the Malawi nation continues to look back on the life of the late Vice President, the MCCCI CEO reflected on Chilima’s dedication to professionalism and efforts to advance economic policies that can propel the growth of the private sector.

Dr Chilima once proposed capping the interest rate bracket to control the country’s high lending rates.

Prior to joining politics, the late Dr Chilima served as Managing Director of mobile phone service provider Airtel Malawi and had also worked for other companies.
