National Oil Company of Malawi ( NOCMA) has assured Malawians that it is doing everything possible to address the challenge of fuel shortage in the country.
Depot Manager for NOCMA at Kanengo, Moffat Soko, said this in Lilongwe when he received a consignment of 15 wagons carrying 590,000 litres of fuel from Nacala Mozambique.
Soko says 26 tankers carrying about 1 million litres of petrol will offload the commodity by the end of business today.
He added that about 28 tankers are also loading fuel in Dar es Salaam with a total volume of 2 million litres.
He has since expressed optimism that the situation will normalise by the end of this week.
