Guinea-Bissau President Umaro Sissoco Embalo has left the country through Kamuzu International Airport.
While in the country, President Embaló offered his condolences to President Dr Lazarus Chakwera and the people of Malawi on the passing of Vice President Dr Saulos Chilima and eight other officials who died in a plane crash on Monday last week.
He described the late Dr Chilima as a true statesman who was hardworking and had the welfare of the country at heart.
“It is imperative to pay tribute to late Vice President Dr Saulos Chilima who was a true son of Malawi and Africa. His passing is a great loss to his immediate family, Malawi as a nation and Africa as a whole, ” said President Embaló.
The country is observing 21 days of mourning following the tragic plane crash.
