The Ministry of Gender has urged the citizenry to use resources being provided by the government and development partners to improve their livelihood.
The line minister, Jean Sendeza, said this in the area of Traditional Authority Khongoni in Lilongwe during Give Directly’s Cash For Wealth Creation project field visit.
Sendeza said there is a need for people in the country to make proper use of the assistance to reduce poverty and improve education and welfare at the household level.
She commended Give Directly for partnering government to help reach the most vulnerable population in both urban and rural areas in the country.
Country Director for Give Directly, Shaunak Ganguly, said the goal is to give people access to basic human needs, aligning with the government’s wealth creation strategy.
Since 2019, Give Directly has delivered over $75 million in cash transfers and humanitarian response to floods and cyclone effects.
