Affiliate members of the Federation of Disability Organization in Malawi (FEDOMA) have emphasized the need to have women and girls with disabilities actively participate in gender-related concerns affecting them.
Symon Munde, the Executive Director of FEDOMA, said this during a workshop in Blantyre on Monday which brought together organisations dedicated to supporting people with disabilities in the country.
Munde said women and girls are an important aspect to the disability rights movement, which needs a raised sensitization.
Organisations such as Disabled Women in Development, Malawi Union of the Blind and the Malawi National Association of the Deaf also participated in the workshop.
