‘Do not to sale AIP fertilizer’

District Commissioner (DC) for Likoma, Abubakar Nkhoma, has asked Affordable Inputs Programme (AIP) beneficiaries in Likoma not to sale the fertilizer which they received.

Nkhoma made the remarks on Thursday in Likoma after supervising the selling point at Mbamba saying that people should apply the fertilizer in their gardens in order for them to harvest maize thereby having enough food in their homes.

“The government wants them to at least harvest adequate maize after the rains,” he said.

The DC then thanked the government for keeping their word by sending the consignment of fertilizer in time as per their promise on the district.

A beneficiary, Magret Kuyacha from Chalunda Village in Likoma, expressed gratitude for being among the list of AIP beneficiaries saying others have not been accorded the opportunity to buy the subsidy fertilizer.

However, Kuyacha asked the government to increase the number of the programme’s beneficiaries.
