Dedza stands united as they mourn former VP

Citizens of Dedza have resolved to remain united as they continue to remember the departed soul of Dr Saulos Chilima and eight others who died in a plane crash in Chikangawa Forest in Mzimba.

This came out on Sunday night at Dedza Stadium during a candlelight memorial service organised to honour the nine.

In her remarks, Traditional Authority Kamenyagwaza, who spoke on behalf of Paramount Chief Gomani V, urged Malawians to remain peaceful and calm in honouring the late Chilima.

Dedza Catholic Parish priest, Father Johnny Chithonje, described the late Chilima as a humble man with a zeal to promote peace. He called for unity in respect of Chilima’s soul.

Today, July 01,2014 marks the last day of the 21 day mourning period which President Dr Lazarus Chakwera declared in honour of the departed Vice President and the eight others.
