This morning, the Malawi Beach Soccer National team has to prove if they are worthy of advancing to the Semi-finals of the 2024 COSAFA Beach Soccer as they face Seychelles at 10:30 AM.
The game is crucial because in Group A, all teams are tied on three points and only goal difference separates them.
However, Malawi is at a disadvantage since they have conceded more goals than any other team.
This comes after their 5-1 loss to Saudi Arabia on Monday, which was Malawi’s heaviest defeat in the tournament.
It came just a day after Malawi’s 4-2 victory over South Africa on Sunday.
Despite the setback, Malawi coach Willy Kumilambe remains optimistic, pointing out that in their previous assignment, they lost due to silly mistakes.
“The toughest match was against South Africa. Now everyone has the same advantages and disadvantages, but I promise that we are going to win against Seychelles,” said Kumilambe.
This is the last pool stage match. Saudi Arabia and South Africa will face off at 14:30.
In Group B, Angola is currently on top with five points from two matches while Morocco is in second place with three points.
At 12 noon, it will be Angola vs Mozambique, and at 16:00 it will be Morocco vs Tanzania.
