Civil society has commended President Dr Lazarus Chakwera for taking bold steps to address the fuel shortage in the country, including negotiating for government to government deal with the United Arab Emirates.
Commenting after the president’s return,Nyika Institute Executive Director, Moses Mkandawire, said the development is crucial in promoting bilateral trade among the two countries.
Economic commentator, Tiyane Nyirenda believes the country will greatly benefit from the trip as the president is taking different approaches in addressing the challanges affecting the country.
Brieifing reporters at Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe upon arrival, Dr Chakwera said he was happy with the progress registered during the trip.
