President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has expressed gratitude and extended best wishes to artists across the country as they commemorate World Art Day.
In a special message, Chakwera says artists such as painters, musicians, writers, sculptors, comedians and many others enrich the nation through their creative works.
He said that their contributions to promoting health education, agriculture, tourism and other areas not only entertain but also educate and inform the nation.
Dr Chakwera emphasized that such works play a critical role in the nation’s development, unite the people and place Malawi on the map.
As Malawi joins other countries in commemorating the day, the Malawi leader commends every ‘self-made hustler’ and all Malawians who support artists, recognizing them as pillars of Malawi’s creative economy.
