Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nancy Tembo, says the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation has helped to empower the country’s socio-economic drivers by providing updated skills that has enabled them to remain competitive on the market.
Tembo made the remarks in Lilongwe during the 60th celebrations of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation.
She said several Malawians have benefitted from the trainings in India organised by the commission in education, agriculture and economical areas.
“We are very thankful to the Indian government for the trainings. Our people have been greatly empowered through these trainings” said Tembo.
Indian High Commissioner to Malawi, Subia Gopalakrishnan, said his government is committed to empowering more Malawians with skills through the trainings.
Gopalakrishnan also commended the Malawi Government for levelling the ground for the commission to exercise it’s duties in the country by abiding to the bilateral ties.
