President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has arrived in Mangochi ahead of the enthronement of Bishop William Mchombo as the third Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of the Upper Shire.
The Enthronement event will take place tomorrow (Saturday) at St Peter and Paul Cathedral church ground in Mpondasi.
Upon his arrival at Mtakataka turnoff, the Malawi leader was welcomed by party officials and supporters from the Eastern region.
He told the multitudes gathered around Mtakataka that though he is in the district for a church function, he appreciated their resilience and commitment to see a developed Malawi.
He urged them to hold on as help for different challenges being faced in the country is on the way.
Mchombo is already a Bishop and was ministering in Eastern Zambia but has since been transferred to Malawi.
