Competition and Fair Trading Commission (CFTC) believes President Dr Lazarus Chakwera’s assenting to the amended Competition and Fair Trading Bill will address gaps that existed in enforcement of laws on the same.
Innocent Helema, CFTC’s spokesperson, said the new Act will change the way the commission handles various complainsts.
The amended law, among others, clearly tackles matters of excessive pricing of products and services, which has been a nagging issue for some time.
It also gives the commission power to impose fines.
