Bullets finish 4th in Super League First Round

TNM Super League defending champions, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, concluded the first round of the league with a 2-0 victory against relegation-threatened Bangwe All Stars.

The match took place at Mpira Stadium in Blantyre on Wednesday, courtesy of goals by Babatunde Adepoje in the 49th minute and Chawanangwa Gumbo three minutes later.

Bullets’ Chikumbutso Salima was voted Man of the Match, as he assisted one of the goals.

Bullets’ coach, Calisto Pasuwa, acknowledged that his team started the game jittery but managed to regroup in the second half.

On the other hand, Bangwe’s coach, Rodgers Yasin, criticised the officiation, describing it as biased.

The victory places Bullets in 4th position with 23 points, while Bangwe remains in 15th position with 9 points.

In other matches, MAFCO drew 2-2 against CIVO, and Karonga United had a 1-1 draw with Mzuzu City Hammers.

Mid-week action in the league continues tomorrow with Creck Sporting Club facing Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos at CIVO Stadium in Lilongwe and Baka City playing against second-placed Mighty Wanderers.

These matches will mark the completion of the first round, with all teams having played 15 games each.

There will be no mid-season break, as the league action resumes on Saturday and Sunday.
