The Magistrate Court in Lilongwe has committed Allan Wittika’s Murder Case to the High Court.
Speaking when the accused, Lester Maganga, appeared in court, Senior Resident Magistrate Wanangwa Nyirenda said the accused will be answering a charge of murder as he is suspected to have caused the death of Wittika at Area 15 in Lilongwe on 20 September 2023.
State Prosecutor, Davison Banda, asked the court to keep the accused on remand for 90 days to allow thorough investigations.
Innocent Kubwalo, lawyer representing the accused, told the court that he will file an application for bail at the High Court and it will be the court’s discretion whether to keep the accused on remand for 90 days or not.
