Old Mutual has asked Malawians to take climate change-related tragedies that affected the country as a reminder to conserve the environment and avoid deforestation.
The Group Chief Finance Officer for Old Mutual Malawi, Vera Zulu, made the remarks in Lilongwe at T/A Masumbankhunda where, in collaboration with Seed- Co, they planted over 7,000 trees.
“The scars of Cyclone Freddy’s devastation should push us to plant more trees and not deforestation,” said Zulu.
Old Mutual is expected to carry out a similar exercise in all regions of the country.
