Abida Mia vows to continue late husband’s charity work

Minister of Water and Sanitation, Abidah Mia, who is also Chikwawa Nkombezi legislator, has assured people of Balaka that she will continue with the charity works that her late husband, Sidik Mia, started in the district.

She made the remarks after visiting Buleya Mosque in the area of Traditional Authority Nsamala in the district where she distributed maize flour and soap to 1,000 families.

She also assured people in the area that the government will continue providing social cash transfer, food to those affected by the dry spell as well as addressing water challenges affecting the area.

One of the volunteers of Faizan Global Foundation, Nurain Aniz, said reaching out to the needy in the month of Ramadan is one of the important pillars in Islam and promised to work with Mia to help more people.
