In a bid to combat maternal mortality, Nation Publication Limited (NPL) is gearing up for its Mother’s Fun Run project, an initiative aimed at ensuring no woman dies while giving birth.
According to Tamara Mtuwa, National Bank Service Centre Manager for Henderson Street, the project is lifesaving hence supporting the initiative with K7 million.
Aubrey Mchulu, who is an Editor at NPL, said they are committed to making a difference in the lives of women hence the initiative.
NPL want to raise K300 million worth of resources to help Chikwawa District Hospital by procuring essential medical equipment, including ultrasound machines, fetal monitors and delivery beds, which will significantly enhance the hospital’s capacity to handle high-risk pregnancies and complications.
The fun run is scheduled for October 5 this year.
