Goshen City launches Capacity and Skills Transfer Programme for Miss Malawi

Goshen City has officially launched a groundbreaking Capacity and Skills Transfer Programme as part of its sponsorship partnership with the Miss Malawi pageant. The initiative aims to empower the Miss Malawi organisation and selected Malawian service providers with world-class expertise in event production, pageantry coaching, and professional catwalk development.

The intensive programme brings together a team of internationally renowned industry experts, including:
Alice Rowlands Musukwa, celebrated Zambian international model and pageant mentor who has revolutionised Zambia’s pageantry scene.

Abiott Muwala, leading Zimbabwean fashion designer and pageant stylist.

Jo Manuel, globally recognised pageant producer known for his work with Miss Botswana and other international pageant productions.

These experts will train the Miss Malawi team in stage management, fashion curation, contestant grooming, runway techniques, creative direction, and production planning setting a new benchmark for pageantry excellence in Malawi.

Speaking during the launch, Godfrey Kambewa, Head of Sponsorships and Partnerships for Miss Malawi, emphasised the importance of the initiative.

“This programme is transformational for Malawi’s creative economy. We are building real capacity and skills that will not only elevate Miss Malawi but also position local professionals to compete regionally and globally. We are grateful to Goshen City for investing in skills, not just sponsorship. This is legacy-building,” said Kambewa.

Representing Goshen City, Prophetess Mary Bushiri underscored the vision behind the initiative.

“Our commitment goes beyond sponsorship, our goal is empowerment. By bringing in international experts to share knowledge, we are equipping Malawi’s creative talent with tools to shine globally. Goshen City believes in investing in people, in national pride, and in platforms like Miss Malawi that elevate our country’s image,” said Bushiri.

The programme marks a major milestone for Malawi’s creative and events industry, fostering collaboration among Southern African pageant powerhouses and empowering young creatives and women in leadership.

The Miss Malawi finals are scheduled for 13 December at the Pearl Convention Centre in Lilongwe, where the winner will walk away with a combined prize package valued at K50 million, courtesy of Goshen City.
