Youth and Society (YAS) has tipped political parties to level-up the playing field for young people’s participation in different positions ahead of next year’s elections.
YAS Programme Coordinator for Human Rights and Society Strengthening, Mwandida Theu, said there is a need to fully support young people for a better Malawi whose constitution guarantees inclusivity and diversity.
“We want more youths to participate in next year’s general elections and not only through supporting parties but vying for leadership positions as presidents, members of parliament and councilors,” Theu stated.
