The Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) is pleased to bring you a remastered version of the MBC Entertainers of The Year Awards this evening.
The black-tie event is on this evening starting at 6 pm at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe
Retired broadcaster, Pearson Chunga, now aged 76 who is a former MBC employee, conceptualised and launched the Entertainers of the Year Awards Programme in 1975 when he was 28 years old.

MBC Director General, George Kasakula, in recognition of this ingenuity, has extended a complimentary ticket to Chunga as MBC revives the programme.
Old-timers say people in the 70s, 80s and 90s used to gather around Nzeru Radio sets to listen to the programme all night through.
Nzeru Radio became a popular brand in those days.
