Vice President Dr Michael Bizwick Usi will leave the country on Monday for Tangier, Morocco to attend the African Consultation in Preparation for the 3rd United Nations Ocean Conference slated for Wednesday this week.
A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says while in Morocco, Dr Usi will meet Moroccan Government officials to deepen bilateral diplomatic relations.
This follows the inauguration of Malawi’s new embassy in Rabat, Morocco ten months ago.
Thereafter, Dr Michael Usi will proceed to Baku, Azerbaijan to attend the Pre-Conference of Parties Pre-COP to the 2024 United Nations Climate Change Conference from the 10th to the 12th of this month.
The Pre Cop will discuss key aspects of the negotiations to find solutions to outstanding global climate issues ahead of COP29 next month.
The Vice President will return home next week on 14 October m,2024.
