Two players from the Malawi National Women’s Football team, Scorchers, have been nominated for the Most Promising Player award at the 2023 COSAFA Championship.
Competing against the Malawian duo is Esther Banda from Zambia.
The two players, Leticia Chinyamula and Rose Kadzere, are from Ascent Academy.
According to a press statement from COSAFA, the results will be announced at a Gala Awards ceremony in Durban on 19 April, 2024 by a judging panel consisting of 14 members from various Southern African countries.
The panel will judge the players based on their performances from January 1st to December 31st, 2023.
Malawi emerged as the champions of the tournament, winning their first gold medal after defeating Zambia 2-1 in the final held in October 2023.
