SDA Church  to construct multi-storey office complex

The Central Malawi Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church has commenced a project to build a five-storey office complex on its premises in Area 49, Lilongwe.

This was announced by the Conference President, Pastor John Phiri, at the groundbreaking ceremony held on 28 January 2025 at the site.

According to Pastor Phiri, the state-of-the-art project, estimated to cost K6 billion, will be financed through church member offerings and is expected to be completed within 30 months by Choice Construction Limited, a local firm.

“This project will not only solve our current office space issues but will also generate income for the conference as some floors will be available for rent,” said Pastor Phiri.

At the ceremony, the President of the Malawi Union Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Pastor Tony Nyirenda, lauded the Central region’s church for the ambitious endeavour and urged continued unity for the advancement of God’s work.

“It’s time for the Seventh Day Adventists to shift our mindset and start thinking big. We can do much more to advance our church’s development goals in Malawi. With unity, the right attitude, and faithful offerings, we can achieve a great deal,” Pastor Nyirenda remarked.

The event was attended by senior leadership from the Malawi Union Conference, the Central Malawi Conference, and numerous church members.
