President Dr Lazarus Chakwera says the two engagements he is to undertake in Mozambique and Zimbabwe are very important in strengthening bilateral relations which the country continues to enjoy with its neighbours.
Dr Chakwera was speaking at Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe on departure to Maputo, Mozambique for a two day official visit at the invitation of President Filipe Nyusi of that country.
The President will also proceed to Harare, Zimbabwe where he will attend the 44th SADC summit.
The President was seen off by Vice President Dr. Michael Usi, Cabinet ministers, senior government officials and Malawi Congress Party leaders and members.
