Portland Cement Company has donated 600 bags of cement to the Mercy James Centre for Paediatric Surgery and Intensive Care in Blantyre.
The cement will be used in the construction of a structure that will house guardians and trainee staff.
Jianguo Liu, the Chief Executive Officer of the company, said the donation symbolises recognition of the excellent services provided by the healthcare institution.
Eric Borgostein, a Paediatric Surgeon at the hospital, described the support as timely.
The facility was established in 2017 and currently has 50 beds, having performed approximately 12,000 surgeries.
